The convenient streaming service of Twitch seems to be constantly gaining more and more popularity. Meanwhile the enormous number of registered users, who are streaming daily one and a half hours or more, has exceeded the 28 million mark. This service was founded in 2011 by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear with way lower expectations. It's not deniable, that the insolvency of concurrent Own3D contributed to their record.
By now, not only professional gamers use Twitch's broadcast possibilities, although it's been originally designed for them, but also charity organisations like the PreventCancer Foundation. Some more statistics: more than 600.000 active broadcasters and 3.500 users in a partner program have been registered so far.
What do you think about this service? Do you possibly use it for broadcasting, too?
