Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand Expansion Playstation 3
Everyone is excited and has been anticipating this great release from Dice and EA. It is the Back to Karkand Expansion for Playstion 3. As promised by Playstion EA, and Dice. Playstion 3 would receive the Back to Karkand Expansion before Xbox 360. Some players of Xbox are upset at this as Xbox usually always gets games, expansions, and map packs before anyone else especially with Call of Duty. Not many know of the reason behind PS3 getting the expansion early well here is your reason. EA promised PS3 players BF 1943 with all preordered BF3 copies. “In lieu of 1943 being available on disk for PS3 customers, EA has made all BF3 expansions available early to PS3 customers” Was stated by EA to all PS3 users. As far as Xbox 360 players, you must wait until December 13th, 2011 in order to get your expansion.
We all have heard the saying. With great things comes great responsibility. This saying is becoming true as EA has been having many problems with the new expansion for Battlefield 3. These issues said by EA are minor, but to players who live for the game and play hours on end everyday this is a major malfunction. What most are upset about is not being able to play on the new maps that came with this expansion but as EA stated. "Please use the Quick Match filter settings to pick the Back to Karkand map and mode you want to play. Going through the server browser right now will match you up with base game maps only. We are hard at work isolating and fixing this issue and will have an ETA on this later. Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, using Quick Match will let you select and play on any map, from the base game or Back to Karkand." To some this is easy enough to do, but for others we like things simple. Take us back to Call of Duty. With this game when map packs rolled out you could join up with other players who had the map packs and only play with the players who had them. Although if you joined a regular match and the players there also had the map packs the new maps would pop up to be voted on.
Other issues that is coming from PS3 is input lag. As most gamers know lag is bad, especially for first person shooters (FPS). This lag is known throughout the Battlefield 3 PS3 community as far as people over-aiming while trying to take down an enemy. EA seemed to ignore this issue at first. Many attempts were made by the community of players to contact EA. Even going as far as making accounts on Twitter/Facebook. And spamming the Battlefield 3 accounts. EA finally spoke up to this issue saying that it would be worked on. Along side of the Input lag with PS3 comes a major problem on all consoles from PS3, Xbox 360, and even PC. This has been a ongoing battle between EA and its community as far as their servers are concerned. Since the release of BF3 frequent disconnects from BF3 servers are everywhere. Every console has had this issue even until this day. Seeing as the game released on October 25, 2011, and servers are still having connection issues.
EA will be launching patches to all consoles coming soon to help with a list of problems. Here is a insider straight from EA on everything that will be worked on with the new patch.
Flashlights will be more life-like and won't blind players at distances.
Reported input lag for console controllers
Mobile AA (LAV-D/Tunguska) may be nerfed
Improvements in the ability to land a jet for repair purposes (maybe we'll get reverse too)
The SCAR-H rifle (engineer unlock) is rumored to be nerfed
IRNV scope is expected to be adjusted too
PS3 and PC have already received this patch, but Xbox 360 has not received it yet. A lot of Xbox 360 users are happy about not receiving the patch as it has caused many problems with this new patch as far as IRNV being way to nerfed and not lifelike at all, also many believe the SCAR-H rifle for the engineer’s have not had anything done to them. This reporter cannot fully give you his opinion on this as I am a Xbox 360 player.
To EA, Dice, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC all together this is a awesome game and brings out a great way to take real life tactics into a realistic war game. If you do not have this game it is highly recommended if you are wanting a realistic war game to play online with your friends. For all PC users be sure to read the PC recommendations on performance for your computer as BF3 needs a lot to run smoothly. I hope this article has helped out a lot of people interested in this game and helps sum up what is going on within EA and BF3.
