[Rejected] Thread [Tag Scammer] Option for members

Helou, long time no see!

Plenty of people have recently come to me complaining about getting scammed in plenty of sections, asking for help with Paypal refunds, or asking for possible methods to charge-back a BTC transaction (you can't, get over it).

We do have a rule here that is unique for this forum only: Insulting, flaming, accusing and baiting other members is forbidden. On most other forums with a rating system, the community is free to warn other users of potential scammers, but not here. We have to report a thread and wait, often for several days, even up to weeks, for the staff to take action. I don't know about you guys, but I could easily pull out several thousand $ in BTC if I decided to scam for a week on a 100/0/0 account without bans.

In short, my idea:

Allow people with a minimal amount of positive TBM ratings, time registered and total posts
(Example: 20/0/0, 6 months on forum and 100 total posts) to tag a thread with a [TAG SCAMMER]



Additionally, it would be great if instead of the ">>" there would be a number of the scammer tags, and upon pressing or hovering the >> a list of the users that tagged the thread as a scam would be displayed, similar to the list of users that have given "thanks" below a post/thread.

Yeah, you're free to send money to every seller on epvp and rate them negative when they scam you, have fun, pm me when you can't pay for your food anymore, I'll send you a few bucks. The point with this is that people who are experienced in trading, and can detect a potential scammer most of the time, will be able to warn most users WITHOUT having to be scammed to warn, or without having to get a punishment in form of an infraction.

Simple, one or 2 fake tags and you lose the ability to tag.

So, if you need to proof that the Seller scams, what is the difference between reporting it in Complaint Area?
Every Scammer can just say "hey that user is tagging me wrong". Than the User needs to proof that the Seller scammed him -> back in Complaint Area.

You are responsable for your security. You can't blame elitepvpers for your own fault. To be honest, it's risky to trade with other people without any information about the person, but it's also a trade on the internet. Security is not given. Please remind those important aspects.

No, but your idea is **** and that is why they won't. They just tried to say it in a nice way.


You can abuse this so easily and you can be biased and just randomly tag someone as a scammer because you are bored.

I could even do this on your thread because why not? Who will check if I am abusing it - and they wouldn't be able to stop me from doing so because it is not based on any evidence but more like on the own impression of someone.

Further there is a way to discuss about scammers in the TBM-Section and you can also rate them negative, so people will know when someone isn't trustworthy.
(So there is already a existing system to tag scammers.)

So you want the right to accuse people based on speculation. Well, the answer is no, at least not the way you have suggested. Though there will be another solution soon, which will most likely be acceptable for you, too.
