In my opinion, Silkroad private servers same goes to all other games private servers is pretty much dead, but silkroad as a game was dead when it started becoming a business to everyone

This was the exact day and reason, why and when silkroad signed its death sentance.
If you think 12 years after those files were release we can EVEN HAVE a discussion about how dead this game is, you are delusional.

You said ' i talk to thousands people in person, listen to their problems ect... ' .
Well, i gotta say that you should stop lying about that cause the last time i played in your server and i had a problem, you didn't even bother to take 2 mins to talk to me and all you said said to me was ' im not a fool ' and dissapeared LOL , you should stop being arrogant cause after all, you're just the owner of a PServer in a GAME, you worth nothing more IRL.

I feel like this is a bit of an advertisement in disguise. Nevertheless some nice wisdoms have been shared.
After all these years this game has the biggest spot in my heart and it will never die to me (even that I do not play anymore). I find myself often fantasyzing about a perfect silkroad, which may or may not be possible.

Bro I agree with the OP every reason, but those are just negative way to see it. Yes my friends never touch silkroad because of they families, but Im sure they would come back if something is worth, Yes there are alot of private servers that open and close, but They still always get players going, Yes there are alot of guilds that donate and get ahead, but thats how every system works even in the real world, Yes botting is a problem, but it can help players still play with they job. All these negatives have a positive too. My suggestion is to create a non grinding, non play2win, nor pay2win server, free for all. If anyone will do that, just for social, interaction, events and fun it will be great as a social game. Imagine a server where everyone loves the while. Where mobs don't drop equipment, just goods. A server where there is no need to compete, and enjoy the LORE. A server like this will exist where they realise there is not a better place to be then in silkroad. I have a full idea guide and how this server can be made if someone is intrested, contact me.

May I ask why that is?
Is it so hard to believe there is a few out there who wish to host the best of what everyone wants in the community and not for a fee.
Sadly, those do not become the dominate servers, you have servers like electus for example that become popular.
We as a community want want want and when we get it. We want something different.

It seems like you're discussing the challenges faced by Silkroad Online servers and questioning why no server, including Electus servers, can remain active for at least a year while maintaining a high level of player engagement. You mention your experience in running servers and collecting data, and you're curious about players' perspectives on this matter.
Maintaining a server that remains active and engaging for an extended period can be a complex task. There are several factors that contribute to the lifespan of a server, and it's important to consider them.
Player Engagement: Sustaining player interest and engagement is crucial for a server's longevity. While servers can offer various features and events, it ultimately depends on the players to actively participate and contribute to the community. If players lose interest or move on to other games, it becomes challenging for a server to remain active.
Game Lifespan: Silkroad Online, like any game, has its own lifespan. It was initially released in 2005, and while it still has a dedicated player base, it may not attract as many new players as it did in the past. The game's age can affect its appeal, making it harder for servers to maintain a consistently high player count.
Competition: The gaming industry is filled with numerous options, and players have a wide array of choices available to them. Newer games with more modern features and graphics can attract players away from Silkroad Online. Servers must contend with this competition and find ways to differentiate themselves to retain players.
Administration and Server Management: Server administrators play a vital role in creating a positive and enjoyable gaming experience. They need to address player concerns, provide updates and events, and maintain a stable and secure server environment. However, even with the best administration, it's challenging to retain players indefinitely, especially given the factors mentioned above.
It's important for players to understand the limitations and challenges faced by server administrators. While some players may desire a server that remains active for several years, it's important to remember that player engagement and dedication play a significant role. Ultimately, players themselves have the power to keep a server alive by actively participating and supporting the community.
In conclusion, the reality of Silkroad Online in 2023 is that maintaining a server with consistent high activity and longevity is challenging. Players can choose to adapt their gameplay patterns to the current state of the game, taking breaks when needed, or they can choose to blame server administrators. However, it's essential to recognize the shared responsibility between administrators and players in maintaining an active and engaging server community.

Silkroad is old, and by extension everyone who used to play it is old. Old game with no marketing or any kind of major updates/improvements to bring in fresh new crowd and with old people growing the f up and moving on with their lives = dead game.
Hard truth. Earlier everyone here accepts it and stops expecting this to change the better it is for everyone.
The release of server files was the absolute worse thing that could have happened for this game. It caused the abandonment of emulators, which means no real change can happen without hacky and bullshit ways to implement new features.
Emulators would have been godlike at this point if the popular ones back in the day have continued, but it's hard to maintain without a community of developers to back it. Everyone jumped on server files and wanted to make money, it is what it is.
And without the source, I'm afraid there is only so much to be done. People who have the source are doing absolutely jack **** with it, complete waste of ****.
Take the path your fellow ex team members have took already Pr0x and realize that this is a loosing path. Afaik you're the last one standing from the skalidor/elamidas team. And no offense to you or anything but I don't think you have any innovative team members left anymore.
Find a different game to do pservers in. There are many out there, step out of your comfort zone my dude!

From 2005 till now this game is a grind fest. I loved it at first but when it became a bot invested game i went to WoW aprox 2006/2007. Came back some times to check it out. But never got into it like before.
I handfarmed a blader with friends and fought wars on Venice server against the thiefs. Lots of fun but after all updates nothing realy changed. No (good) battlefields, quests or expentions from the trade* system. (*hunter/thief/trader) Friends also started to bot or otherwise quited the game like me.
After years i tried the first private server around 2018. Started with a high EXP rated one DemonRoad**, later some hard-core low exp-rate servers. Had some good and bad experiences on my way but at the end all these servers died. In my opinion the game will never update new content so at the end a new server is only within the range of some other parameters GM's set and nothing else. In a few months its the same old **** like in 2005 when "Joy"-Max started it all.
Keep your good memories of this game and go on with your lifes... Thats what i did.
**If you wish to ruin your life again:I noticed DemonRoad is online (Didn't check population! Last time i did it was bad.)

Well, you either get a low rate server where you have to donate to be competitive, or a high rate one where you'll also have to donate.
Add to that the players that just want to run an 8/8 bot party, and you've got a server with 1k players but barely any activity.
There's a server in its open beta phase right now called Project65.
A server running 1.065 files (October 2006?) which I have dreamt of for the past 10 years, but instead we've had thousands of servers running vsro files.
The last server I'll ever play.
Not trying to advertise it or anything, just letting you guys know that if you're interested in an actual vanilla experience where you'll have to handgrind with 1x rates you're in for a treat.

I dont think release of server files ended the game. SRO is an outdated grind style game with very few end game content. People got bored and left. Infact, the release of the server files slowed dying process of game. Many players stayed a bit more for new servers with diffrent features. But the capability of game is limited. Even after those years, sometimes i still want to play but after playing like 2 - 3 weeks, it gets boring and i stop playing the game.
It is just a nostalgia for the most of us here, nothing more. It reminds me of good old happy times with no life issues.
