We have just added more items to our World Drop. These items include:

• Warehouse Recall Rune
• Level 7 Linking Hammer
• White Tiger Charm
• Red Phoenix Charm
• Small Extraction Hammer

Our member base is climbing and we are seeing much more online activity on both factions. Numbers are pretty well split between the faction's at most times.

Player's have officially begun to PVP. Very little, but it is occurring.

Hopefully either our coming maintenance, or the following at the latest, we will also be opening our Goddess Battle Map. As well as a few additions to the "AP Merchant" in the bootleg.

Again, all are welcome to come and join in. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Back on topic, been on this server about a week now, got two toons 50+ so I got a bit of experience with the server. First thing you need to realise when you join this server, it is one of the heaviest grind servers out there, don't go in expecting to be zooming through the levels. Take your time with it and enjoy some of the quests along the way, and please don't join and start begging for a plvl once you reach lvl 10.

I don't mind grind servers, but the problem I have always had is the a grind server needs a lot of people to be successful, but grind servers rarely attain the numbers of the instant pvp servers, which is a shame in my opinion. This server suffers from that problem, if you weren't on the server for the initial rush when it opened, finding a party is a rare occurence. 95% of the levelling I did was solo, but I could have been looking for parties a lot more than I was.

My main issue I have with this server is that it is too like OS. The world drops are nice, but the simple things such as lapis and gear drops being in the exact same place as they were on OS. The major problem with this is, for lapis especially, you need to be linked or be in a competant party to farm the lapis, but you need to farm the lapis to be linked, its a tough circle to break into. Don't even get me started on 6s though, yes you can farm OI boxes solo for them at 10% rate, but you need 7 people in party to enter OI. At some times of the day, that is everyone in the entire faction having to join just to enter OI. No one wants to see the spam for joining OI raids return.

The gear drops aren't too bad, but just because they were like that in OS doesn't mean they have to be the same here, being that way on OS doesn't neccessarily mean they were appropriate.

TLDR - If you can get constant parties or join an extremely helpful guild that will help you level and get linked gear, then you'll enjoy this server. What is more likely is you'll be spending an extremely long time soloing, and in order to solo the later levels you need linked gear, but you need linked gear to solo the bosses and mobs that drop the lapis and gear :/

I will save space and not quote the review above, but I did want to respond to it. First off, thank you for the true review rather than the one sentence remarks most players give.

Second, please do not take any of this as any form of the usual, "If you dont like; Leave" type of replies. This is not the intention at all.

In response to a good bit of your review, I can say only one thing :

Shaiya Purity : Reflection is officially open. Please feel free to come and join us for some classic EP4 game play!

Shaiya Purity : Reflection is and will remain a low rate grind/farm server. We are not for the faint of heart, nor those easily irritated by repetitiveness.

The idea when developing this server was to try and stay as true to EP4 as possible, while adding bit and pieces to ease the pain. Part of this was helping get freely available AP items, whether major or minor, to assist in keeping your toon alive and in forward motion; All the while leaving the challenge and competition that comes with farming.

We do have some changes coming however. Such as the low 40 set of Goddess gear added to Asta and Anky, for example. However, this will not be a common drop.

Too many will try and skip gear levels and go straight for the brass ring. I am not saying this is the case with the particular review, but it is often the case.

Differing levels in gear and lapis are present for a reason. And that reason was meant to be from the start. Progress. Everyone starts at the bottom and works up. Whether that includes painful days in dreads with level 3 and 4 lapis, or having a guildie with immediate access to their stock of legends and duals to start farming Level 5's and prepare for Goddess.

What I can say is that LaAlmeja (Our first level 60 UM), for example, managed to get his levels and hold dominance over the bosses within the first week of the server. This includes bosses such as Astaroth, Kimu, and the Ruber Chaos bosses. The primary sources for legends, ele lapis, sonic lapis, and flash lapis. And he managed to do this in a duo.

When I set out to re-develop Purity, I did so as I saw Shaiya and what I felt it should have been. I have always thrived on challenge and inner-faction competition. Cut-throat guild rivalries, Boss KS'ing, and so on.

It sounds too cliche and I hate to say it, but I developed the server as I would want to play it. Like-minded players were the target audience. I knew this would cause the server to grow slowly, and the player base to remain small. But this was the point.

As time changes, we will see additions and changes to lighten the load. Including a change in party restrictions for Oblivion Insula that will be in place as early as tomorrow's maintenance.

Once more, I thank you for the thoughtful and well written review. I simply felt it necessary to add some insight into the thoughts behind it's current set up.

In short, Purity : Reflection is meant as just that. A look into the past.

Whereas I like the above post I would like to add that in my opinion adding goddess drops to bosses that can be solo'd, have a quick respawn rate, and come in groups is extreme. Top that off with the fact that one set of goddess only has a slight increase in stats such as HP/MP/SP Def/Res, it really leaves little drive and or desire to upgrade gear other than for cosmetic purpose. Thus rendering the higher level bosses useless.

In an above post it was stated that because drop placements exist where they do in OS it does not mean they are proper. That is subjective and circumstantial to ones own personal opinion. As well as their play style and in game goals. As I have stated before and will state again, many people play MMORPG's for the raid aspect. Looting with groups, promoting their guild via rank, etc. It is not all about PvP for every player. That is obvious or this would have been a PvP server in the first place.

As far as the grind is concerned, it is not as hard as some would make it out to seem. Too many times I have watched people grind by soloing one orange or red mob when a cluster of yellow or green mobs would prove more rewarding. Also, parties, they have a purpose and should be utilized.

The point is, this server requires team work and strategy. Something that the shaiya community has been missing for years. I personally enjoy it the way it is.

*Oblivion Insula minimum party reduced to 2 players
*$10 worth of AP is now auto-awarded upon Level 60. There is a 2-5 minute delay.
*Each toon to have hit 60 before this maintenance has also been awarded the AP.

i like the fact that drops are the same as OS ones.
Only tho you could make OI boss 100% drop 2x lvl VI lapis and maybe raise a bit the EXP rate... cuz people need to lvl 30 hm to unlock UM
and Also a Moneybookers Purchasing Method or Google checkout would be awesome for people that can't use paypal, like me

We are a US based server. This severely hinders our online payment options. However, now that I see MB boasting US license agreements---I will check into this over the next few days. MB was not previously available.

And Google checkout's payout options for new merchant accounts isn't the most pleasant to work with when using the funds to keep the server online.

The initial plan for OI was to have 2 100% drops of LV6 lapis---until we decided to keep it open 24/7.

I honestly would not look for the EXP rate to change, other than maybe as special events.

i do play OS and i get more EXP than this for the only reason that we have 50 to 60% exp boost everyday >.> lol
now...Moneybooker's very interesant to use and much more people can use it than paypal.

50% is only 0.5x standard exp and therefore less than 10x. I also still play OS daily. =)

We are currently down with no known expectation of when we will be able to be back online.

After consulting with out host, AT&T has shut down their datacenter's bandwidth due to malicious attacks originating from our host's datacenter.

This is a matter much larger than just our server, and may take some time to be resolved.

We are remaining in constant contact with our host until this matter is resolved. However, I do ask that rather than spam EPVP on the matter, please follow the updates on our web site, and feel free to utilize our forums for discussion of the matter, or merely passing time.

If and when our host can finally restore service, we will try and host various events and promotions to try and make up for the down time.

I will be blunt and honest. I have never dealt with a matter such as this, and I can not even begin to assume anything about the length of down time or the end result.

However, I will do as I can to keep everyone updated via our web site.

Seems like a pretty good server...i especially like the fact that you have made the GRB bosses have no point value so players can't do the instance abuse, that is one of the best things about this server. I will deffinetly be coming to try this server out

EDIT: Seems i cannot get on to the registration page to register my account, I have tried on both Firefox and Chrome and they are saying that the server is taking to long to respond

First off, I would like to thank everyone for being patient on news of the server, as well as not flooding EPVP with questions, hearsay, etc...

However, I would like to ask that this thread be closed until further notice to avoid any future confusion, as our situation with our host and our server content/information has gotten a bit more tricky than planned.

Our web site has been disabled, with a brief explanation of the current situation. This will remain the case until issues between our host and their bandwidth provider are in the clear.
