They sent email to those who use raf 2.0 system and said '' you got 30 days folks'' to redeem your rewards thats their promise.
edit:but you know, since their EULA lets it.. they can also do what you said, they can cheaply close the system without opening it and giving idiotic reasons. But this is riot.. i think they will have MERCY :d

Yeah that's the thing you "HAVE" 30days oh wait how many left? 5days? Because they Riot decided to shut down the site for couple of days most likely because everyone started to making Gift accounts etc, I think they gonna open it last 2 days most likely-
Theres gonna be ALWYAS someone who will miss or can't get on computer and won't get the refs redeemed, and then they gonna have to spend money on Riot and Riot will $$$$
