Razer Edge tablet unveiled

Razer has gone the extra mile and surprised everyone at the CES with its first Razer Edge tablet, which is, basically, the follow-up of their Project Fiona (announced in 2012), running Windows 8 and promising the be the beginning of a new era for gamers...through their tablets.

As claimed by Razer, this tablet is

"The most powerful tablet in the world"

This tablet uses a 10.1" multi-touch screen. Running on an Intel Core i5 (or Core i7 depending on the model -Standard or Pro-), with an Nvidia GT640M LE GPU (1366x768), Bluetooth and a USB 3.0 port.

For memory, the Standard model will feature 4GB DDR3 RAM, while the Pro model will have the double (8GB). If we talk about storage, we will find 64GB and 128GB according to the model of the Edge.

With all this technology, it has been also promised that players will be able to run their favorite games with a good fps rate, as they mentioned, it will be possible to play Dishonored at 59 fps.

As well, the Edge supports 2 controllers and with its HDMI output, users will be able to display graphics in their TVs.

The prices for these tablets are $999 for the Standard model, while the Pro model will cost $1,299.

We thought the same then, as I believe this is really expensive, yet I am sure there will be an active market for this device

Well, the Nexus 10 is a bit less powerful but MUCH cheaper !
I am still waiting for it ...

I'm tired of ****** packaging, and that's what Razor among other brands has become for me. The market for portable gaming is dead for me. Most of the time I, like most other people i know, am at a particular location or home. The travel distance between said location and home is no further than 1 hour, 90% of the time, and that applies to people going to University or work daily. So when i'd pay 1000 dollars for this tablet, i would actually use it on the occasional train ride to play Skyrim, because i dont have internet while traveling. I'd rather get a laptop and a cheap usb mouse if i wanted to play at work or University. And for 1000 bucks i'd get a laptop i can run all the latest offers on Steam, and have better connectivity with other PCs if i want to go to a LAN party and could actually edit and create documents. Lan parties are the biggest reason i would invest in a portable gaming device, but to all products that try to push 150-200 bucks extra on me for a green snake logo under the screen, no thank you.
