[GUIDE] Running Silkroad without errors/crashes/DC

03/25/2008 14:59 Mandera#1
I havent played Silkroad for the last 5 days because i had every 2 min dc/crash or my game froze. Now I got a solution which works for me. I hope it works for everyone here because its so annoying to have errors and crashes all the time. So give it a try :)

Here we go:

- Start Silkroad (and your bot if you want)
- When you logged on, Alt-Tab to Windows
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
- Go to Processes
- Search for sro_client
- If you find it, click with your right mouse button on it
- Select Set Affinity
- Just leave CPU 0 checked and uncheck any others

Now go back in Silkroad and start playing :D

OMG that doesnt Helps against Disconnects.
Its a very Old trick, that we used since the Euro Update last year.
It only works an Multi Core CPUs like centrino Core DUO or Core 2 Duo, and the AMD X2 modells.
It only prevents the ???? erros all the Time, but if you use Multiclient you will get it in citys too.

If you have other CPU Types then eventually Process Priority can help or Bios Settings for CPUs with Hyperthreading Technology.

But Intel CPUS doesnt need that anymore with the actual SRO Versions, but with AMD you should still use it.

thanks Mandera,
it indeed worked for me. using a Q6600 (quadcore, an intel one, spri guy ;))

It works on my Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz pc. So its not the newest one. But this trick works for me and im happy that i can play Silkroad again after 5 days of crashes and errors. It helps me to keep my game up after the bot ban.

Never had the chance to test it on a Quadcore and i didnt knew ones who plays SRo on Quadcore Machines and had problems ;)
so forgive me ^^
But in past i had to use this trick too everytime.

@Mandere
How you can use that on a P4? He has only one CPU Core

It has 2 CPUs. So thats why i can use it. I can choose between CPU 0 and CPU 1 :p And in Everest it says also my p4 has 2 cpus

Maybe he see Hyperthreading as 2 Cores oO
Funny xD
Only reason that come to my Mind.

And with the newest SRO update i have to use that Trick again too, or SRO freezes after some second or minutes oO
WTF are that Gaymax people do? We have Dual and Quad Core CPUs now for so long and they are to stupid to fix there software and to go with technology.
